Changing your air filter

Fiberglass Filter Change

When was the last time you changed your filter?

Many people don't realize that your HVAC system is the lungs of your home. It pushes the air through your home, whether its to warm you up or cool you down. It works incredibly hard to keep you comfortable. A clean air filter allows your system to circulate clean air into your living space, helping to keep you healthy.  One of the easiest ways to maintain your HVAC system is to ensure the filter is changed regularly. What does regularly mean? We recommend changing your filter once a month. More often if there is construction or remodeling happening in the home.

Fresh air filters not only provide you with clean air to inhale and exhale. When a filter, is dirty or clogged your heating and cooling equipment has to work harder to circulate the air in your home. This causes undue strain on your equipment. Which more often than not, results in breakdowns at the worst time and costly repairs.

With so many filter options available, you may ask "what is the best for my home?"   While we understand the want for the higher MERV rated filters, that only need to be changed every three or four months, these filters cause more damage to your HVAC systems. The system must strain to circulate the air through the filter. Our recommendation is the cheapest fiberglass filters. They offer air filtration at an affordable cost while allowing the proper air flow for your system. Plus with a lower price tag, changing these filters once a month will cost less than changing the expensive, thicker, pleated filters every 3 months.

You should go check your furnace filter now.
